HI! I have two boys on campus this year…Micah in 6th Grade and Jakob in 4th Grade. This is our seventh year at HTES and my third year on the PTO Board. I have volunteered as a room parent each year, as well as in the Stallion Strides Horsemanship program for the past 5 years. I am super excited to get to know all the Stallion families and help make this year amazing for all the kiddos.

Amanda Schmidt

Hello from the Schmidt fam! Our chickadees are in 2nd (Olive) and 4th (Emery) this year and we couldnt love our school more. We are a proud Stallion family and love giving back however we can- Ive been a room parent, a mini museum volunteer, helped with the garden and ive served on the board for a few years now in various capacities. Our family lives for the outdoors and being active - we hope to see you on campus or on the trails soon!

Hi, my name is Brie Hill and I will be one of your co-vice presidents this year. This will be my second year on the board. I have been married to my wonderful husband, Aaron, for 10 years! We have 2 kiddos, Aubrey who is in 6th grade and Caiden is in 1st grade. I love spending time outside, watching my kids play the sports they love, working out and reading! I am very excited for the year ahead!

Hi! My name is Chrissy and this is our 3rd year at HTES. Our family moved to Cave Creek from Chicago in July of 2021 and I joined the PTO right away as room parent, Birthday Book Club volunteer and Room Parent Liaison. I met so many amazing parents this way. This year I am the Co-Vice President and also Room Parent liaison. I have 3 daughters, Milan (5th grade), Siena (2nd grade) and Brooklyn (1st grade). I love spending time with my family and friends, running, traveling and seeing live music. Looking forward to a great year!

I’m Angie Whatley, Treasurer. Married to Jeremy, mom to Nate (6th grade) and Jackson (3rd grade). As a family, we love a good beach trip and family game nights. I joined the PTO because I wanted to be more involved after covid. I started by going to the meetings and then volunteering for the events my kids wanted to go to.

Amanda Dahl

Hey there- I’m Amanda! My husband Brandon and I have 2 redheads- Asher (4^th grade) and Maggie (2^nd grade). This is my second year on the PTO Board, yet, I’ve been involved as a room parent for the last 4 years. I’ve formed many close friendships through working with groups of room parents- I’d highly recommend it! I’ve also had the privilege of working with Stallion Strides, the Horsemanship program. I’ve not been around horses much, so I wrangled the kids, and was able to see how amazing the relationship between student and horse can be. Our family is proud to be Stallion Strong!

Katie Noble - PTO member at large for the 23/24 school year. This is my third year on the PTO and enjoy supporting HTES and our community. I have one son, Harrison, who is in Mrs Cresswell’s 4th grade class. My husband Eric and I love spending time with friends, trying new restaurants and supporting Harrison in baseball.

My name is Melinda, I have three children. Alexander (AJ) is my youngest, he’s in fourth grade. My intent with joining the PTO is to be helpful and informed. My why for being part of the PTO is AJ. The comfort of him knowing that I am around the school helping out with various events brings happiness to us both.

Hi, I’m Bridget, a proud HTES mom of two 4th graders, Liam and Emma, who have been Stallions since they were 3 years old! I have been a Room mom and a Horsemanship volunteer but this is my first year on the PTO. I am excited to work alongside my Co-Horseshoe Crew coordinator and our HTES Room parents to celebrate our wonderful teachers and ensure that our kids have a truly special school year!

Stacey Leshner- Website Coordinator This is my fourth year on the PTO Board. I have 3 children at HTES. Katelyn (5th Grade), Connor (3rd Grade), and Ayden (Kindergarten). I've been involved as a room parent for the past 5 years, and a garden volunteer for one year as well as a horsemanship volunteer each year! Being involved with the PTO board and volunteering in the school has helped us become connected with other families within the school community!

I am excited to serve as co chair of fundraising for the HTES PTO. I will be responsible for working with HTES Sponsors and coordinating Spirit Nights throughout the year. Our family is new to Arizona and moved here from Pittsburgh, PA last summer. I love exploring all AZ has to offer with my husband Matt and our 2 boys Elliott (1st grade) and Graham (Pre-K). I enjoy trail running, strength training, cycling, hiking, yoga, helping Matt with our home improvements, and trying new healthy recipes.

Shayna Washut

My name is Shayna Washut - My husband (Zach) and I have two kids: Ryder (1st - Rosser) and 1 year old Hudson. We love to spend time outdoors, go on family adventures and attend local sporting events. This is my first year as a member of the PTO Board, and I am very excited to be a part of such an awesome community!

Hey! I’m Stefanie and I have two kids here at HTES- Brooklynn (6th grade) and Tyler (5th grade). This is my fourth year on PTO and I’ve also enjoyed volunteering with Mini Museum, Garden and as a Room Parent. I’ve loved being involved at HTES. I couldn’t have asked for a better elementary experience for my kids. Our family enjoys traveling, RVing and watching soccer games and theater performances!

My name is Kristin Flores & I have 2 kids at HTES. I have a 6 year old daughter -Cheyenne who is in first grade and a 8 year old Son- Carson who is in 3rd grade. I am in charge of Birthday Book Club this year. I love all the programs at HTES but my favorite would have to be Horsemanship, it is one of the main reasons we as a family came to Horseshoe Trails. I am looking forward to this exciting year.

Joe Hernandez

My name is Joe Hernandez. I will be helping out with the class gardens this year and any other way I can. This is my first year with the PTO but I have helped with the gardens the previous two years. My son Ben just started First Grade in Ms. Groh’s class. My wife Amanda and I are AZ natives and we moved to the area 3 years ago. We are excited to be part of such a great school and community.
